Ten Stony Brook Surgery Faculty Receive Promotions in the Renaissance School of Medicine

Ten Stony Brook Medicine Department of Surgery faculty have received promotions. Doctors Keith Chadwick (Associate Professor), Lukasz Czerwonka (Associate Professor of Surgery), Paula Denoya (Professor of Surgery),
Ankit Dhamija (Associate Professor), Helen Hsieh (Professor of Surgery with Tenure), Brian O’Hea (Professor of Surgery), Jonathan Price (Associate Professor of Surgery), Lucyna Price (Associate Professor of Surgery), Amy Rosenbluth (Associate Professor) and Alvin Wong (Associate Professor) were elevated to these new roles in Stony Brook's Renaissance School of Medicine.

Keith Chadwick, MD, MS

Associate Professor of Surgery and Residency Program Director
Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery

Dr. Chadwick is board-certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disease of the throat and larynx (voice box), including voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders. He earned his Medical Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2013, completed a residency in Otolaryngology at Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in 2018, and finished a fellowship in Laryngology at the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice - Weill Cornell Medicine in 2020. He also earned graduate degree in Clinical & Translational Investigation at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2020. He is affiliated with Stony Brook's Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Lukasz Czerwonka, MD, FACS

He earned his Medical Degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, in 2008, completed residencies in Surgery at Western Reserve Care System in 2010, and at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2013, and finished a Fellowship in Otolaryngology at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 2015. He is affiliated with Stony Brook's Ambulatory Surgery Center, Cancer Center and Skull Base Surgery Center. In 2017, he received the Best Teacher Award from the Stony Brook Department of Surgery.

Paula Denoya, MD, FACS, FASCRS

She earned her Medical Degree at the Icahn School of Medicine (Mount Sinai Medical Center) in 2002, completed a residency in Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine in 2007, finished a research fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2008, and a fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2009. Dr. Denoya is affiliated with the Stony Brook Cancer Center and Stony Brook Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Center. She is the Director of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Residency has been a New York Super Doctors selection and also included in the Guide to America's Top Surgeons published by the Consumers' Research Council of America.

Dr. Dhamija is affiliated with the Stony Brook Chest Wall Clinic, Stony Brook Lung Cancer Evaluation Center, Stony Brook Heartburn and Esophageal Center, Stony Brook Heart Institute, Stony Brook Aortic Center and the Stony Brook Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Center. Helen Hsieh, MD, PhD

She also earned a professional degree from the Stony Brook Medical Scientist Training Program. Dr. Hsieh is affiliated with Stony Brook Children's Hospital and the Wollmuth-Hsieh Lab. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association.

Brian O’Hea, MD, FACS

Dr. O'Hea is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, and focuses on patients diagnosed with breast cancer and other surgical breast problems. His clinical interests and expertise includes:

He earned his Medical Degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1986, completed residencies in Surgery at McGill University Health Centre in 2013, and another in Surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital Medical Center of NY in 1991, and he finished a fellowship in Breast Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 1996. Dr. O'Hea is the Chief of the Division of Breast Surgery, Leader of the Breast Care Team, and Director of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), has been selected for inclusion in all editions of the Castle Connolly Guide of America's Top Doctors since 2005, selected for inclusion in the "Best Doctors" listing of New York Magazine since 2001, and was selected for the Best Doctors in America database (since 2009).

Dr. Price is the Co-director of the Stony Brook Aortic Center and affiliated with the Stony Brook Heart Failure Center, Stony Brook Heart Institute, and Stony Brook Lung Cancer Evaluation Center.

Lucyna Price, MD, FACS, RPVI

Dr. Lucyna Price is board-certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is dedicated to the highest level of vascular surgery, endovascular therapy, professional education and clinical research. Her clinical interests and expertise includes:

All areas of arterial and venous surgery (using both conventional surgical techniques and minimally invasive endovascular techniques)

Amy Rosenbluth, MD
