Amy Karriker, Director of Spiritual Care

Rev. Amy Karriker serves as the Director of Spiritual Care Services at Stony Brook University Hospital. She is an ordained and endorsed chaplain with the United Church of Christ and the Suffolk County Association.  She holds a Master’s of Divinity (MDiv) from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.  Rev. Karriker is a board certified chaplain with The Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) since 2001 and has been serving as a member of its Board from 2017-2023. She has been very active with APC serving in many roles, as a Development Committee member, Chair of 2010 Annual APC Conference, Area 1 Certification chair, facilitator of the Pediatric Special Interest Group, and Membership Committee chair. Rev. Karriker has served as a chaplain in the healthcare setting for 33 years and prior to her coming to Stony Brook, Rev. Karriker has served as director at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health as well as Manager at Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls, MT.

She is a member of The Congregational Church of Manhasset, where she has also served on several committees and assists in worship when needed.
