NCI COVID-19 in Cancer Patients Study with Michael L. Pearl, MD

National Cancer Institute-Support Study

Patients with cancer who also have COVID-19 are eligible to participate. This is not a clinical trial for new treatments. 

The purpose of this study is to determine how the interactions of cancer and COVID-19 affects patients' outcomes. Participants will not change treatments r require any additional visits.

Our Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. David Baker, receives both the 2020 Castle Connolly and Newsday Top Doctors awards.

Dr. Baker is a national recognized expert on infectious diseases in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his medical training at the State University of Brooklyn and completed his residency at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. He completed his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, VT.

Dr. Baker is actively involved in basic, and clinical research involving various aspects of womens health relating to infectious diseases and menopause. Dr. Baker has published over 250 articles, chapters and books in the fields of infectious disease. Recently Dr. Baker has expanded his research into the area of menopause and herbal supplements. He has been recognized as a specialist in diseases of the vulva and vaginitis. In addition, he recently was recognized for work on herbal supplements.
