Doula Partnership Program

A Doula is a trained, non-clinical professional who provides physical and emotional support and encouragement before, during and after childbirth. The goal of a Doula is to ensure that the birthing person feels safe, empowered, informed, respected and heard throughout their experience.

Studies have shown that working with a Doula during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum can positively impact both the mother's and baby's health, and improve the overall birth experience.

Why work with a Doula?

  • Improved birth outcomes
  • Reduced Cesarean-section rates
  • Shorter labor times
  • Less use of pain medication
  • Increased breastfeeding success
  • Continuous emotional support; reduced anxiety and stress
  • Greater sense of control and more confidence
  • Better communication with medical staff
  • Support for the partner or other family members
  • Covered by Medicaid and many private insurance plans

How to find a Doula that's right for you.

We believe the best support starts with the right connection. Fill out our Doula Match Form to be paired with a Doula who aligns with your personality, values, and preferences so you feel comfortable and confident.

After you complete the form, you'll be matched with two Doulas to interview. From there, you can choose the one that feels like the best fit for you and your family--keeping preferences and budget in mind. (*Note: Some of our Doulas accept Medicaid.)

Your Doula support will consist of:

  • Three prenatal visits (virtual or in person)
  • Full labor and birth support up to 2 hours postpartum
  • One postpartum visit in the home
  • Educational resources

*Recommendations available upon request
