Stony Brook Talents On Display

The dedication, compassion and many talents of our faculty and staff have been on full display during the past year as we battled the coronavirus pandemic. It has been a long, difficult period, at times emotionally wrenching, but also at times incredibly rewarding. We have earned the respect and gratitude of the patients, families and communities we serve.

As we celebrate National Hospital Week, May 9-15, and National Nurses Week, May 6-12, we want to express our deep gratitude to every employee for the integral roles they play every day. To show our appreciation, there are a variety of activities and events that will be happening throughout the week. Visit ThePulse for all of the details.

We are especially excited to hold our first-ever virtual employee talent show. We know the talents of our faculty and staff go well beyond their professional talents, and we look forward to seeing those talents on display. Look for an email on May 12 regarding the broadcast of the show. It will be shared internally and with the community at large through our social media channels. Our executive and department leaders also look forward to rounding on all units and expressing gratitude to many staff in person. Be on the lookout for some friendly visits and a special treat.

The care of our patients during the past year has truly been exceptional, carried out by a dedicated, compassionate and talented team of faculty and staff. So let’s all take time to rest, recharge and have a little fun at work. Whether you participated in the show or not, please know that we are grateful for ALL your talents, skills, dedication and expertise.

Thank you in advance for your contributions in caring for our patients throughout the past year, and for your courageous response during the pandemic.

Stay Stony Brook Strong!

I took on many overtime hours during the covid epidemic as a nursing station clerk. Returning to floors I use to work on to help field call bells and phone calls so nurses could still maintain their patient's needs. When I was home I found solace in the natural wildlife the surrounds my home, I hope you enjoy one of my resident birds who have returned to my property annually! thanks for coming up with such a great idea!!
