As we recently commemorated our 40th anniversary of serving as Long Island’s premier academic medical center and teaching hospital, what stands out the most for me is that we couldn’t have accomplished all that we have without such an amazing team of supportive, compassionate and dedicated professionals. Each of you has a diverse perspective and makes a significant contribution to fulfilling our mission and vision each and every day.
The satisfaction and engagement of our employees is extremely important to us. We have made a strong commitment to build and nurture a culture of employee engagement, as engaged employees feel more involved, committed, passionate and empowered. This, in turn, has a direct impact on both the quality of care and the patient experience, which is what we all strive for in every role we play. With your help, we have made great strides in our employee engagement efforts, and we look forward to continuing to listen and take action on this journey together.
