Celebrate And Thank Our Administrative Professionals

During this global pandemic, our direct patient caregivers have been on the front lines, caring for hundreds of coronavirus patients on a daily basis. They are true heroes in the fight against COVID-19.

Standing with them is an equally important part of our workforce: those who serve in vital support roles. Ultimately, all of us either provide direct patient care, or we support those who do.

On Wednesday, April 22, we all have the opportunity to show our appreciation for one of those vital support groups that has risen to the operational challenges and changes of the pandemic – our administrative professionals – on Administrative Professionals Day.

Our administrative professionals are the backbone of the support structure that helps us to manage the demanding, day-to-day requirements we face in meeting our core mission. Throughout our campus, they serve in a wide variety of roles, from scheduling to data keeping to greeting patients and families and so much more.

This year more than ever, I hope that you will join me in taking a moment during this historic pandemic to express thanks to those who help us so selflessly behind the scenes. Please express your sincere gratitude to our administrative professional staff for their commitment to excellence. We encourage each department to celebrate this important day within your teams.

On behalf of our leadership team, thank you to all our administrative professionals for your service, support and the impact you make at Stony Brook Medicine every day.
