Notice of Public Meeting Stony Brook University Hospital

Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) will hold a virtual public meeting on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:30 am.

Agenda Item:
Relocation of Outpatient Transplant and Nephrology Services

Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) will be relocating two of its clinical services, Outpatient Transplant and Nephrology, both currently located at our extension clinics in East Setauket.

Details:

  • Transplant Services - In July 2025*, our Transplant Service—which provides comprehensive pre- and post-transplant clinical exams and consultations—will move from 24 Research Way to 181 Belle Mead Road, East Setauket. The new location is a half a mile away from the current site and is easily accessible by a two-minute drive or a 9–12 minute walk.
  • Nephrology Services - In late July or early August 2025*, our Nephrology Service will relocate from 26 Research Way to 205 Belle Mead Road, East Setauket. The new location is 0.8 miles from the current site and can be reached by a two-minute drive or a short walk.

What This Means for Patients:

SBUH is committed to ensuring that there will be no disruption to patient care services during these transitions. Existing patients, families and referring physicians will be notified in advance of all changes. Importantly, these moves will not affect current staffinglevels and will not result in any job losses. Both new locations remain within the same medical park, and all services will continue without interruption.

Meeting Attendees:

Senior leadership of Stony Brook University Hospital and the Transplant and Nephology service administrators.

*Both relocation dates are subject to the NYS Department of Health approval.
