Sports Medicine

The Division of Sports Medicine of Stony Brook Orthopaedic Associates is dedicated to the comprehensive care of athletes of all ages. Our team approach to non-operative and operative care is delivered with special attention to the demands of competitive athletes of all levels. Working hand-in-hand with athletic trainers, physical therapists and other allied medical providers, our fellowship trained physicians’ goal is to keep you safe and effective in your sport and active in your life. Our physicians are specialty trained in the diagnosis and management of injuries to the shoulder, elbow, knee, foot and ankle using the latest in biologic, arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques.

Our physicians are the official team physicians for Stony Brook University and Suffolk County Community College, and serve as instructors for the Stony Brook University medical students, Physical Therapy, Certified Athletic Trainer, and orthopaedic residency programs. As a part of our educational mission, our team is actively involved in ongoing sports medicine and arthroscopy related research. Past research has been published in major orthopaedic journals and presented at national and international scientific meetings. We also hold an annual Sports Medicine Conference, to advance the knowledge of local sports medicine providers.
