  • Nutrition One-On-One Counseling: This is available to all responders who are up-to-date with their yearly monitoring visits. The counseling appointments are available in-person at the Commack office, or via telehealth (telephone or video). The visit consists of reviewing your health goals, body composition, annual monitoring visit lab values, nutritional intake, and exercise plan. The registered dietitian will work with you individually to create a nutrition-focused plan and list of goals. You will receive written and verbal education including meal and snack ideas, meal timing information, and other helpful guides.
    • Initial Consult: ~45 Minutes
      • Complete a pre-visit survey prior to your appointment
      • During your appointment:
        • Review WTC physical, lab results, goals, and current lifestyle patterns
        • Follow-Up Visits: ~30 Minutes
          • Every 4-8 weeks as needed
          • Complete a pre-visit survey prior to each appointment
          • During your appointment:
            • Assess progress, barriers, and strategies to achieve goals
  • Nutrition Education Materials: Looking for some general information? Check out our Nutrition department's education website linked above where you can find our library of nutrition handouts, a course on the Mediterranean Diet, and recipes created specifically for our WTC Responder Population! 
     
  • Nutrition-Related Lab Work Review: Do you have altered nutrition-related labs like high cholesterol or blood glucose? Reach out after your visit to schedule a Nutrition consult! Reviews are less than 30 minutes and can be done over the phone or via mail-home packet.
