Creative Arts Resources

Being creative is a fundamental part of humanity, hardwired into human brains since the existence of humanity. In the modern day, it is sometimes difficult to set time aside to tap into that creativity, especially for those in careers that do not draw upon that skillset regularly. It is important to take some time during the week to be creative.

Creativity is important as it adds spontaneity, beauty, connectedness, and a sense of being whole and belonging. Creative arts helps physical, social, cognitive, and emotional growth and development in children, and are equally important throughout life.

Any form of creative arts allows a safe space for emotional expression. It also mirrors what is on our minds, either consciously or subconsciously, allowing us to connect with our real inner thoughts and eventually find resolutions to what is bothering us. There is also a joy that comes from sharing such creativity. Since art is a universal language that communicates emotions, it is easy to share and brings about a primal joy and understanding of fellow humans.

Be it painting, drawing, pottery making, dancing, creating, or listening to music, knitting, stitching, watching or participating in theatre, cooking, gardening, creating flower arrangements, creative arts enables us to to connect with the beauty of the world and the human experience. It elevates our mood and stimulates and connects all parts of our brain.
