PHYSICIANS

Joseph B. Quinn, MD, FAAP
Joseph B. Quinn, MD, FAAP received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from the Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. He completed his internship in pediatrics at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore and his residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He has worked in this practice since 1985. Special interests include infectious disease, sports injuries and attention deficit disorder. Outside interests include biking, kayaking and skiing.
Thelma Gaestano, MD, FAAP

Thelma Gaetano, MD, FAAP received her medical degree from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Following her medical degree, she completed her general pediatrics residency training at the Children’s Medical Center of Dayton.

Dr. Gaetano practiced in both outpatient pediatrics and express care in Ohio for 12 years prior to joining Southampton Pediatric Associates, and continues to teach medical residents in training in her position as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics.

"I am thrilled to move to Long Island, and look forward to providing comprehensive pediatric care to the children of our community."

Dr. Gaetano is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), as well as the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).

Alexandra Halitsky, MD, FAAP

Alexandra Halitsky, MD, FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician who has been caring for children and families in our community for over 25 years and has been providing care at our practice since 2005.

She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed her pediatric residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.

Dr. Halitsky previously served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Southampton Hospital for 15 years and was the hospital’s Neonatal Liaison from 2003 to 2022. She is an active member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center at Stony Brook since its founding and is a former board member of the Flying Point Foundation for Autism. 

Her special areas of interest include neonatal and newborn medicine, as well as developmental pediatrics

Kuldeep Mahal, MD
Kuldeep Mahal, MD received her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and completed her residency in pediatrics at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Dr. Mahal also serves as a clinical assistant instructor at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook, where she supervises and evaluates medical students.
