Our Physicians
Jacqueline A. Ammirata, MD, FACOG
Dr. Ammirata is an attending in obstetrics and gynecology at Good Samaritan Hospital and South Shore University Hospital.
She graduated with honors in obstetrics and gynecology and with "Distinction in Research" from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She then completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadows and Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.
Dr. Ammirata is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a member of the American Medical Association.
She is married and has two children and enjoys running and gourmet cooking. She is also conversant in Spanish and Italian.
Dr. Jurak is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is an attending physician at Good Samaritan and South Shore University Hospital. Dr. Jurak holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Latvian Medical Academy, Riga, Latvia, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Ecole Supérieure d'Ostéopathie, Paris, France.
Prior to her move to the United States, she worked as an attending physician in both obstetrics and gynecology and emergency medicine. She was also the founder and director of the Latvian School of Osteopathy, teaching osteopathy to physicians internationally. After her move to New York, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Queens Hospital Center (Mt. Sinai School of Medicine), during which time she obtained a diploma in minimally invasive gynecological laparoscopy through the Université d´Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, France. She also traveled to Nicaragua on a humanitarian mission through the organization Cristo Sana.
Her professional interests lie in comprehensive women's health, with an emphasis on obstetrics as well as a full-spectrum approach to the management of pain conditions, including the use of manual medicine and exercise. Additionally, through her background in academic science and research, she has authored several studies, including "The Role of Connective Tissue in Osteopathy" and "Methotrexate in Treatment of Ectopic Pregnancy".
Dr. Jurak is fluent in several European languages including French, Russian and Spanish. Her free time is unevenly distributed between her family, painting, gardening, yoga, interest in basic sciences and history of art and perfume.
Dr. Seah is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She attended medical school at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Seah has been practicing for more than seven years and is affiliated with Stony Brook University Hospital and South Shore University Hospital. In her free time, Dr. Seah enjoys spending time with her family.
Dr. Sharar is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been practicing for more than nine years. She attended medical school at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Following medical school, Dr. Sharar completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stony Brook University Hospital. She is affiliated with South Shore University Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, horseback riding and snowboarding.
Dr. Neha Sheth, DO, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist accredited by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. With more than eight years of experience, she is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, patient-centered care to women at every stage of life.
Before joining South Bay OB/GYN, Dr. Sheth practiced in New York City, where she gained extensive experience in obstetrics, gynecologic care and advanced women’s health procedures. She is passionate about empowering her patients through education and open communication, ensuring they feel informed and confident in their healthcare decisions.
Dr. Sheth earned her medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Baystate Medical Center at the University of Massachusetts, in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Her commitment to research and innovation in women’s health earned her the prestigious Ronald T. Burkman Research Award.
Outside of work, Dr. Sheth enjoys traveling, skiing, hiking and cherishes time spent with her husband, cat and loved ones.
Our Nurse Practitioners
Colleen is a Family Nurse Practitioner board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Colleen has been practicing since 2011 and has more than seven years of high-risk Ob/Gyn experience. She received her doctorate in nursing practice from Molloy College, which focused on workplace wellness and received her certificate in wellness counseling from Cornell University. She previously worked as a clinical nurse educator and nurse practitioner at Good Samaritan Hospital, NY. Colleen is dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy lifestyles. When not at work, you can find her at the gym or on a ball field watching her sons play sports.
