Our teaching mission means that you may be evaluated by a resident physician (physician obtaining specialty training) or a medical student in addition to the attending physician (supervising physician)

Our research mission means that you may be asked to participate in a research study, but this is always voluntary and will not affect the quality of your care, whether you participate or not.

When to Get Emergency Care?

If you or a loved one is facing a serious injury or illness, call 911 or head to the nearest emergency room immediately. Emergency care is critical if you’re experiencing any of the following:

Chest pain
Severe stomach pain
Coughing or vomiting blood
Major burns
Deep cuts or uncontrolled bleeding
Sudden blurred vision
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Seizures
Sudden dizziness, weakness, or loss of balance
Numbness in the face, arm, or leg
Intense, sudden headache
High fever
