About Stony Brook Children’s Hospital:
With 106 beds, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital is Suffolk County’s only children’s hospital. More than 8,000 children and young adults are discharged each year. Stony Brook Heart Institute is located within Stony Brook University Hospital as part of Long Island's premier university-based medical center. The Department of Surgery consists of 10 clinical divisions that represent diverse areas of surgical specialization. About Stony Brook Trauma Center: As Suffolk County’s only Level I Trauma Center, Stony Brook provides the highest possible level of adult and pediatric trauma care. We are state designated as the only Regional Trauma Center in Suffolk County, treating 1,800 trauma patients annually, including 200 children.
