The Post-COVID Clinic at Stony Brook Medicine Advanced Specialty Care in Commack was created to provide ongoing care and assessment of adult patients who are recovering from COVID-19. The clinic is designed to treat patients who are still experiencing symptoms as well as to monitor for any late effects of COVID-19 infection. Patients will have access to specialists in primary care, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, nephrology, vascular and neurology as well as to mental health providers.
The physicians at the clinic will work together as a multidisciplinary team and will coordinate care with every patient’s primary care physician if they have one, or also provide these services. Each patient will receive a care plan customized to their specific needs and our outpatient care managers will facilitate all assessments and visits that may be needed.

Because the long-term effects of COVID-19 infections are not yet known, comprehensive follow up and evaluation of patients who are recovering is important for optimizing long term health. As part of its mission, Stony Brook Medicine is dedicated to conducting research and sharing knowledge with the broader medical community as well as helping patients to access the latest care. Patients who come to the clinic will also be helping doctors to better identify, understand and treat the virus’s aftereffects and chronic aspects. In the future, our Commack location will also be a site for COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials.
Our Post-COVID Clinic team is composed of physicians who have been on the front lines caring for patients with COVID-19, giving them a unique depth of knowledge and experience in knowing how to provide appropriate and effective follow-up care.
