Health care providers, parents, and those involved in the care of infants must be knowledgeable about the practices which promote infant safety and lower the risk of SIDS and accidental deaths. Educational programs offer current information about Infant Safe Sleep practices, as well as effective ways to help parents and caretakers follow infant safety recommendations. Programs are tailored to the needs of professionals and community groups and may include lectures, videos, experiential exercises and reading material.
Community outreach programs are aimed at reaching larger audiences at health fairs, baby safety showers, conferences and other community events. Display tables include brochures and posters with information on infant safe sleep, shaken baby syndrome prevention, car safety and other topics helpful to parents.
