About Denise Wittpenn

I joined Stony Brook as the second Speech Pathologist in the Department in January 1992.

Since that time, I have worked with patients from pre-school age to geriatrics. My areas of focus have included speech and language delays, fluency, aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria and dysphagia. Over the course of my career as a medical speech pathologist, I have worked in acute care hospitals, out- patient clinics, rehabilitation facilities, assisted living and long -term care facilities.

I have participated in mentoring Graduate Students from local universities and continue to mentor graduate students from Stony Brook University. I have provided in- services to high school students and undergraduates. I currently serve as a Speech Pathologist at the Stony Brook ALS Clinic.
