We are a community-based pediatric practice addressing health care in Stony Brook and the surrounding communities. Our goal at South Shore Pediatrics of Stony Brook is for you to feel confident about the quality and coordination of the medical care you receive. We are continuously investing in new practices, technologies and procedures to help enhance our ability to provide more effective and consistent communication about information regarding your health.
Our Physician
Dr. Chong-Gayle is a board-certified pediatrician with more than 30 years of experience, including 25 years leading a solo pediatrics practice, providing compassionate, patient-centered care to children and families across Long Island.
Dr. Chong-Gayle earned her medical degree from the University of Montemorelos in Mexico and completed her pediatric residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY, where she served as chief resident.
Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Chong-Gayle is deeply committed to medical education and mentorship, as she served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Zucker School of Medicine in Hempstead, NY, for more than a decade. She has also participated in numerous medical missions, providing pediatric care in underprivileged countries including Jamaica, Peru, Haiti and St. Lucia.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chong-Gayle enjoys reading, international travel, tapestry and needlework, bike riding, playing the piano, and spending time volunteering within her community.

Our Physician Assistant
Erica is a board-certified physician assistant providing compassionate, patient-centered care to children and their families. Erica earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts. She brings over a decade of clinical experience and values building meaningful, long-term relationships with her patients and their families. Erica works closely with physicians and clinical staff to support comprehensive pediatric services, including preventive care, sick visits and ongoing health management.
