The Clinical Centers associated with the Department of Neurology are comprised of multi-disciplinary teams of clinical and research professionals. They provide comprehensive neurological care for a wide range of disorders affecting the brain, spine, nerves, or muscle; and seek to advance current standards of care though basic, translational, and clinical research. These Clinical Centers give our experts access to advanced facilities, including imaging platforms, allowing them to offer patients the latest in diagnostic tests and treatments.
We seek to provide our patients with a compassionate Patient and Family Centered Care and excellent outcomes throughout the care continuum. We emphasize effective and open communication with our patients and referring physicians. We fully understand the importance of listening carefully to patient concerns, and ensuring that our patients always have a full understanding of their conditions and care plans. All our clinicians are on the faculty at Stony Brook University, and have the resources to participate in cutting-edge clinical trials. Our physicians are supported by dedicated physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, therapists, psychologists and social workers, as well as administrative support staff charged with guiding our patients through their care experiences. The Neurology Department partners closely with other Departments and Services at Stony Brook Medicine, including Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Neuropsychology, Neuro-radiology, Neuropathology, Neuro-ophthalmology, Health Management, Social Work, and Chronic Pain Management.
