Sometimes out of loss, something else is gained. Theresa Nitti-Graziano, LPN, an employee at the Stony Brook World Trade Center Health Program, proved a wife’s loss can form support for others.
In 2012, Theresa started a widow’s support group. One year later, she was recruited by W Connection, a non-profit organization that helps widows move forward.
“My community service as a widows support leader is not a big deal but is one that I am very passionate about,” she said. “Our group has helped change and improve many lives after losing a spouse.”
Theresa continues to lead the widows support group every month at the Riverhead Free Library. She also volunteers several hours of her time each month at W Connection for fundraisers and other community events.
