This includes more than a decade with the plastic and reconstructive surgery team at Stony Brook Medicine, where she was first assistant in the operating room and earned certifications in: Botox®, dermal fillers and Kybella®; Cutera laser treatments; digital tattoo scar camouflage; corrective and permanent makeup; 3D areolar tattooing; chemical peels; microdermabrasion; and microneedling.

When should I choose a med spa vs. a day spa?
For a massage, facial or mani-pedi, by all means choose a day spa. But if you want an effective, non-invasive treatment to significantly enhance your appearance, you’re in better hands at a med spa like Bellavie. At Bellavie, the person administering your treatment is a certified and licensed healthcare professional using state-of-the-art medical technologies and medical-grade products to perform a comprehensive range of services.

What’s “medical” about a med spa?
In addition to a credentialed clinical staff, a med spa should have physician specialists who actively manage standards and practices. Bellavie is unusual in that we have two medical directors: a plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a vascular surgeon/vein specialist, both of whom are board-certified leaders in their respective fields. With this high level of medical expertise, we’re able to offer more advanced technologies, effective services, medical-grade products and hospital-quality practices.

What can a med spa do for me?
Not all med spas offer the same range of services. At Bellavie, our expertise and experience includes a wide range of safe and effective approaches to correct and reduce fine lines, scars, brown spots, acne, a double chin, spider veins, unwanted hair and much more. With injectables, we can treat wrinkles and other visible signs of aging around your eyes, mouth and forehead. Options include dermal fillers to restore youthful fullness to your face and lips while filling contours and softening facial creases, or Botox® and Xeomin® to prevent and erase wrinkles and frown lines. With our state-of-the-art laser technology, we can improve skin tone and texture, remove facial veins and unwanted hair, offer rosacea and sunspot treatment, minimize scars and birthmarks, revitalize skin and reduce wrinkles. Our broad range of services also includes medicalgrade chemical peels, cosmetic tattooing and sclerotherapy for the treatment of spider veins.

What’s unique about Bellavie?
One thing that makes us unique is our connection to Stony Brook Medicine, Suffolk County’s only academic medical center. This means you can expect a high level of clinical excellence at Bellavie. We screen every client for potential allergic reactions, drug interactions and other medical issues, and we take the time to fully explain the potential risks and side effects of any service. We also maintain hospital-quality hygiene and safety practices. All of our medical supplies and tools are either disposable or autoclaved (pressure steamed) for sterility; all technicians are Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified; we keep an automated external defibrillator (AED) and anaphylaxis kit on site; and our staff is trained and drilled in emergency preparedness. And all of this is offered in our pristine, serene, private and comfortable spa environment.

How do I select the right service?
Schedule a free consultation and we’ll talk about your goals. Maybe you’d like to diminish certain facial lines, or reduce a double chin. Or perhaps skin redness is bothering you, or visible veins in your face or legs. Maybe you’re intrigued by the idea of having permanent makeup, or camouflaging an old scar or blemish. Your desired results, your medical history and your individual situation will guide us in determining a plan.
