Stony Brook Medicine and Stony Brook Southampton Hospital have been re-designated as "Leaders in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality" by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation for 2022-2024. Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital has joined us as a "Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality" by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation for 2022-2024. The HRC is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization. Healthcare Equality Leader status is a competitive designation that requires facilities to met strict criteria in five areas: Non-Discrimination and Staff Training; Patient Services and Support; Employee Benefits and Policies; Patient and Community Engagement; and Responsible Citizenship. Stony Brook gaining this designation would further demonstrate our commitment to provide high quality, equitable care to all patients in Suffolk County.
